Use Colour therapy to balance energy wherever our minds are lacking, be it emotional, spiritual or mental. Some of the tools that can be used are gemstones, candles, prisms, fabrics, baths or eye wear. Note your attraction to a certain colour and this may signal areas where you are imbalanced. Understand why certain colours effect us favourably while others bring about negative feelings.

Understanding Colour

Analogous Colours … are those that are closely related on the colour wheel. Yellows, Oranges and Red-Oranges (or Blues and Violets) used together create a feeling of harmony.
Complementary Colours … are those that are opposite on the colour wheel. Violet and Yellow. Blue and Orange. Red and Green. These colours offer the greatest contrast, so the effect can be bold and dramatic.
Monochromatic Colours … a single colour can create a wonderful feeling of unity. To keep it from getting too monotonous, use varying degrees of values (lights and darks).

Try this as you wake up in the morning. Reflect on the type of day you have planned, choose the colour that will help you meet the demands of the day and then absorb that particular colour. It is like fueling your system.

Try changing the colours that surround you at home and work. It is not about making a room pretty. It sets a vibrational tone that affects the sensory system of the human form. For example - next time you are in a fast food restaurant notice the colours used in the décor. They are red, orange and yellow - the colours proven to stimulate the nervous system and increase your appetite. Colour is understood by the unconscious mind whether applied directly to the skin or through the eyes. It travels neurological pathways to the pineal glands, which controls the daily rhythms of life. The pineal glands modulate the production of melatonin and serotonin - the molecules responsible for sleeping and waking.

Jaundice patients have been treated with Blue. Diet control suggests using Pink to suppress appetite and stress related snacking. Wear Orange if you have a busy day coming up and need to feel energised. Try making notes on Yellow paper to improve memory.

So if you tend to steal a 'between meal munchy', try carrying around a pink swatch!
